If you are unable to make an HSA contribution toward the previous tax year, and the IRS contribution deadline has not passed, it may be because your Health Plan Start Date is not on file for that year. Lively requires a Health Plan Start Date to confirm that you were eligible for an HSA during the tax year.
To resolve this, login to your Lively account and open the menu. From there, select “Account Settings,” then navigate to “HSA Details.” In this section, you will have the option to enter or update your HDHP start date.
Your HDHP start date must reflect that your qualifying coverage began during the previous year. If you were eligible for the entire previous year, you can enter the first day of that year (for example, January 1, 2025). Once this information is saved, you will be able to complete your prior-year HSA contribution successfully.
