The time it takes for funds to appear in your employees' Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) varies depending on the method you use to submit the contributions.
Direct deposit: if you fund contributions via direct deposit, they typically post within 1 to 2 business days after you initiate the transaction. The exact timing is subject to your specific bank's processing speeds and standard ACH transfer times.
Once the funds are deposited, they are immediately available for your employees to use. As an administrator, you will receive an email confirmation detailing the contributions once they have posted.
File-based and dashboard contributions: if you manage contributions using an EDI file via SFTP, an EDI file uploaded to the Lively employer dashboard, or through HSA payroll management on the Lively employer dashboard, the timeline is slightly different. In these scenarios, contributions generally post within 2 to 3 business days of the file being processed or the payroll being confirmed.
Troubleshooting delays: if you notice that a direct deposit contribution has taken longer than 2 business days to appear, we recommend checking with your bank or ACH provider first to rule out any external processing delays.
