When Two-Factor Authentication is enabled, you will be prompted to verify your identity upon logging in through one of two ways:
- By receiving a verification code sent to your phone via text message (SMS Text Authentication), or
- By receiving a verification code sent to an Authentication Application on your mobile device (App Authentication)
Choose the 2FA option that works best for you. The steps below will help you enable 2FA for either of these options.
SMS Text Authentication
- Activate the 2FA feature through your Lively account.
- Log in to your Lively account
- Navigate to the main menu > Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication > Select “SMS Authentication”
- Once enabled, the next time you login you will be asked to enter the code sent to your mobile device in order to access your Lively account.
App Authentication
Start by installing your Authentication App or Password Management App of choice, we recommend Twilio Authy, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator. Once downloaded, follow the prompts in the Authentication App for initial setup and follow these instructions to complete set up with Lively:
Step 1. Log in to your Lively account.
- Navigate to the main menu > Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication > Select “App Authentication”
Step 2. Follow the prompts shown in Step 2.
- You can use your authentication or preferred password management app to scan the barcode shown, or
- Choose the “Manual Entry” option within your authenticator app > enter the "Manual entry code" provided by Lively.
Step 3. Upon completion of Step 2, your Authentication App will generate a 6-digit code.
- Copy that code and enter it into the Step 3 section > Confirm your Lively password > Finish by selecting ‘Confirm.’
Once enabled, the next time you login you will be asked to enter the code sent to your Authentication App in order to access your Lively account.
Remember to save your recovery codes
One-time recovery codes are available if you no longer have access to the mobile phone or Authentication App associated with your 2FA verification method. We highly encourage you to save these codes to be prepared.
Upon completing your 2FA set up, you will be given several One Time Recovery Codes that you must save. Remember to keep the codes in a safe place or in a password manager tool of your choice for easy future access.
